DISAPOINTMENT WITH STARQUEST OWNER'S
Well guy's let me tell you a little bit about this past weekend at a car show / starquest meet here in Texas. Bastrop Texas near Austin, I happen to meet up with 8-10 fellas from around Texas and some other states like Arkansas and Nevada. For the most part everyone was cool but sometimes you get to run into people that have problems with other people in the community. Well I was told there was going to be 15+ cars there not including my two cars, and it was going to be at a huge car show, so I showed up. Little did i know I was going to be hated on so bad by some of the guy's (jealousy of my cars). And most of all discrimination at it's best.. The car show was for domestic and antique vehicles only... besides a riced out 300zx we were the only one's with japanese import's. 10 to be exact including my two. and it happen to be a veterans memorial day!! So you should have seen the reaction of alot of the people there.. I never experienced discrimination like that before... judges were clueless of our vehicles, and people where making rude remarks at our car's calling them crap jap cars! and some even went to the extreme of having cars made in Japan !! The ones responsible for pearl harbor!!! so yeah.... who ever put this together really didnt know what the hell to expect..oh yeah the car that won the import class was a stock P.O.S MG, Well guy's Kelly know's the rest of the story and if you want to hear more IM me .. because the drama that unfolded with in the group of starquest owners went bad!! (not all of them) If I post the rest of my experience Im sure word will get around and more ****znitz will surface out of this.. to john,, your fiji blue car looked amazing bro.. and landrocket your car kiked *** aswell... no problems with yal..

that really sucks. i dont see why people are so against imports. I think all of the honda ricers that ride around in pieces of junk reving like crazy and acting stupid have given the import cars a bad rep. Our cars are very unique in my mind. I dont even put them in the same class as most imports. I think ive seen one other one on the road around here. But you see a lot of these old school cars with v8's and such. I personally love all kinds of cars and appreciate all the work that goes into them. to put it simple if you can tell someone put work into making a car nice and custom then you need to give credit where it is due.
Sorry you got so discriminated on at that show just because of where your car originated from. Funny thing is that most people there probably own an import of some sort for their daily driver. Atleast you werent the only one there even if there wasnt alot of yall. Atleast you had some people to stick it out with you.

During the war second world war the Japanese used prisoners to work in industrial mines

After the war the American government Peace keeping efforts
kept the industrial infrastructure of Mitsubishi and other Japanese corporations
intact but divided the company into separate conglomerates (Keiretsu) .
Japan had captured a few Willis jeeps during the war and copied them for there own use with improvements,
after the war Chrysler honored Japan with the contract to build jeeps for the military.
Allot of Merchant Marines and Navy Veterans were upset when they found the the U.S. government was allowing the sale of decommissioned ships including naval vessels to be scrapped and the metal sold to the Japanese government.
In all honesty you can tell anyone that wasn't fighting the second world war that Mitsubishi's are probably one of the most American, of any car out company out there considering Ford Motor company was still selling it's technology to the German government and operating business there during the war.
Nope Japan is our lap dog and always will be from now on...
just ask one of those engendered Texas folk..
ever hear of Hiroshima or Nagasaki ?
We are driving history I tell you!!!

that's a good fact..... the most drama happened withinn the the starquest group..when someone messed with my car's!! out of jeolusy or hate!! both of my car's I brought where perfectly fine .. I drove an hour from San Antonio to attend the meet and car show.. and all of the sudden the brakes on my silver car where completely gone! and in my red car al this plugs for the electrical where disconected.. !! and even worse I was left there in the hotel parkinlot to fix my own car's while everyone left to get some food and cruise!!! If it was a fellow starquest guy with issues or even a regular person with any car I would have stayed to at least give advice to figure it out.. but I guess that's just me. unless someone is guilty of the **** that happen to my car's.....and didnt want to be around... wel there was tranny fluid dumped into my brake resevour, headlight relays and other relays were disconected on my red car.. thank to my nolege I got back home safe....I learned my lesson....

That is what happens to the Best of the Best. We are hated on by those who are in the shadows, those who want the lime light. Those who cannot do. Those who are worthless. Props to you and your car for making it and showing the v8 crowd you got balls. Next time you are invited to a meet it's wise to get a Invitation to one that is worth it.

man, that's just messed up. I think messing with the brakes on someones car is considered attempted man slaughter because that could have gotten you or someone else killed. It's just a shame some people have to stoop down to that level. It just shows how immature some people are.

I'm sure those "others" most certainly are not of the steer variety
of Texans..

A lesson to all "don't ride alone" ..especially in Texas.
FORGOTENSTAR you mention both cars ??,
who drove the other vehicle ?

I'm confused as to who in the group "hated" against and alledgedly sabotaged your cars.
I find that very hard to believe. Scotty and I even approached you in the Holiday Inn car park to find out what was wrong with your silver car but you seemed to have the situation under control. We just assumed it was one of the joys of Starquest ownership. Happens all the time, my alternator acted weird on Saturday morning and then fixed itself!
As to haters from the V8 crowd, I heard only one and just laughed and ignored it. Hell, there's rivalry between Ford, GM and Mopar at these events for whatever reasons I can never fathom.
For the most part I feel there was a very favorable reaction to our cars as far as I am concerned. Incidentally as for import cars I saw a beautiful Jag right across from us, 3 Sunbeam Tigers, a Datsun 1600, a Nissan 300ZX, a MGB V8, a Volkswagen Beetle, a Triumph TR6. Those are all considered imports at these shows.
We all represented the Starquest community admirably so you should be proud about the contribution you made and not be put off about doing it again at ANY car show in the future.
Lastly, maybe next time you come to an event you'll unfold your arms and smile a bit?
Might make a difference!

Yep that's me, after a day of drinkin' home town Abita beers, So if i look anything other than buzzed it's just a misinterpretation. I thought the meet went well, other than some of the "jap crap" haters but you get that everywhere you go so just let it roll off man, no big deal. Here's someone who tried to sabotage me

and a few other shots to enjoy

How's my Fiji Charlie?

Forgottenstar, people suck and im sorry to hear about the haters some of them are even in your own crowd. I just moved to Corpus, wish i met you in San Antonio where I lived the past ten years. I have only known two other starquest in SA and would have liked to met another cool one. Brush it off, expose the *****es, let them keep the drama & keep it real.
